Heres what the frame and skin looks like all painted purty like.

It's very difficult to rivet and buck the skin to the leading edge by yourself so I had to improvise using tape to hold it
upright as shown here. Worked juss fine...

Almost looks like I squeezed them.

Installed the bracing on the right side.

Right side finished. Tried not to scratch my beautiful paint.

Didn't create any smileys.

They called out for 470 4-6's on these 7 rivets. I don't think so Hoss! That would look like dog poop.
I used small headed 426 4-6's instead.

I went ahead for a test fit at this point just to see how it still fit and as you can see it's fit went to Hell in a Handbasket.
Time to get out the BIG rubber mallet! Who needs air vents when your Tip-up fits like this?

Check back later for an unknown resolution......
Well after final paint I decided the only fix was to roll the edge upward in the center section and down along the sides.
After having done this I went to Sun-N-Fun and B-lined straight for the Vans RV-7A demo plane and noticed they had
done the exact same thing. Sad how it's clear this is a problem area but has never been addressed.
