Trimmed and fitted and sanded and fitted and trimmed and cleaned and marked blah blah blah blah.  Tedious fitment.

I fit the rear window the other day.  Marked and drilled the preliminary holes.

Added a piece of white tape and drew a line to locate the center.

Drilled trough the Plexiglas with a # 40 starting at the top.  Drilled one hole in the rear and then one in front, one in the

rear and one in the front zig-zag all the way down.

Obviously I marked where all the pop rivets were located in the roll bar and drilled between them.  Vans has you drill

these holes using a 2 1/2" spacing which would make 3 screw holes fall directly where the pop rivet was.  NO GOOD!

So I used a 2 3/4" spacing which worked much better.

Finally drilled an clecoed these.

I had to add a 1/8" spacer here.  The only thing I could figure is the forward cheesy frame was short on this side.  Because

when I measured from the rear of the roll bar to the firewall, it was exactly the same on both sides.

I had already trimmed the front half of the Canopy to match the centerline here and now was the time to see how it

matched the rear.

I trimmed both of these Dumbo Ears down and it sure made things alot nicer!

I also fabbed the left rail skin, I'll trim this ear down even more to match the height of the skin and the angle should

match the bend perfectly.  Notice the slight air gap below the rail skin.  When everything is set to the correct height,

you should have no contact the entire length of the Canopy assembly.  Obviously there will be a foam seal between

the Canopy and longeron for an air tight seal.

I'm going to get inside the Fuselage and match drill from the inside out the remainder of the Canopy screw holes

along the top of the side skin.
