Rick came by to give me a hand laying up the new part using my new mold. I had painted the top of the mold with High Performance
Rustoleum Machine Gray paint to give it a nice smooth shiny finish. I then applied the Mold Release Carnuba Wax from Spruce.
I put 2 coats on it and then sprayed on a layer of PVA to the top surface of the mold.
We then layed up one layer of 1.5 oz. E-Glass to provide a smooth bottom on the part. Then 4 layers of BID FIBERGLASS 38" RA7725
I would recommend vacuum bagging when using this many layers with the High-Temp Epoxy. The finished part was a bit thicker and
heavier than I would have liked. Note: I still have to add the top Aluminized layer for aesthetics.
The following photos were taken just after the lay-ups were wet.
