After finishing up the new Spinner sent from Doug.  I then realized the truth to my Spinner/Cowling spacing issue.

The Cowling was completely butt up against the spinner.  I then decided to remove material from the aft edge of the Cowling

around the entire circumference. Since I had 31 #30 holes drilled in the Cowling where I was planning to install CamLocs.

I had to carefully measure the amount I could remove, drill new holes to match the mounting tabs and once Unibitted the final

holes, The 1/2" hole to cover the previous #30 holes.  So I came up with .200 I could safely remove.

Here is the marking of the material to be removed.

With the cowling installed I measured from the forwad edge of the skin forward .200 and drew a mark.  I then used a ruler to connect the dots.

I then trimmed the material with a cut off wheel and sanded precisely to the line with a 18" sanding block.

I then fitted the cowling back to the airplane and using a LED light.  I then could see where to drill a #40 pilot hole.

I bought this at Harbor Freight not long ago.  It was one of those purchases... Hey that is cool and the price is right.  It works off 12V and came

with some really cool battery terminal clips and a cigarette lighter plug in line as well. Very cool!

Heres the spacing I will end up with in the end.  Its perfect now.
