About Me and my decision.
I've always enjoyed playing with things that fly. I've had Remote Control Airplanes, Gliders and Helicopters. As I've begun to age I've suddenly been prompted to bite the bullet and build something that I can fly in myself. I've talked about getting a helicopter for some time and recently my wife purchased a flight for me at a local Airport in a helicopter. I had given serious thought to buying a single seat helicopter for myself. After our flight we sat and talked about flying a little more and she expressed some interest by saying "You ought to get something we can both go somewhere in" so without much more thought I decided a 2 seat plane was the only way to go. Also that day there was a guy there that had flown in with his recently completed RV-8. I looked the plane over and was totally amazed at the quality of his plane. I had never heard of Vans or any of their kits. After a little investigation on the internet I was surprised I had never heard of these planes. It didn't take long to decide on what type I would build. Everyone I have talked to at this point raved about these planes and that you couldn't go wrong with any of these kits. So enough said the empennage kit and tools were ordered.
